This little room above the Camden Head pub in Camden Town has featured comedy nights for a number of years, often being highlighted in Time Out magazine for the fantastic performers from the alternative comedy circuit right up to TV headliners and arena fillers. These have included Harry Hill, Alan Carr, Russell Howard, Bridget Christie, Ava Vidal, Stewart Lee, Rich Hall, Sara Pascoe, Nick Helm, Roisin Conaty and many more! We thought it was about time it was recognised as an official comedy club so, with a bit of work on both the room (new comfy chairs, soundproofing, new lights and stage plus more) and the programme (we have a new promoter and a brand new curated programme showing comedy 7 nights a week), we relaunched at the end of 2014 as Camden Comedy Club!
So far it’s been a delight, with sell out audiences and features on BBC Radio, BBC TV, Evening Standard and Time Out Magazine. While we have bigger names at the weekends performing our regular Friday and Saturday night comedy shows, we also play host to new material nights featuring established acts working on their new sets, themed nights from Laugh Out London and the Weirdos Collective, Edinburgh Preview, new format and panel shows (such as the Evening Standard recommended ‘Stand Up & Slam!’), sketch nights (‘The Jest & Guests’), mixed bills (‘The Rat Pack: Unwrapped’) and Edinburgh Previews plus much more! On Sundays we present an exciting array of workshops and masterclasses for the aspiring and working comedian or performer.
There’s something for everyone and, importantly, while the comedy is top class our prices are reasonable with our top ticket costing just £10 and many events FREE or Pay What You Can! Comedy for Everyone!
