Sun 30th Oct. 2:30 – 5:30pm. Price: £15

Anna Morris, the critically acclaimed character comedian, YouTube sensation and star of ITV2’s Bad Bridesmaid presents a character comedy workshop.

Character comedy has come to the forefront of the comedy world: from Steve Coogan, Catherine Tate, Chris Lily and Little Britain bringing their distinct characters to life on TV, to Fosters award winners and nominees Adam Riches, Cariad Lloyd and Laura Solon putting character comedy shows on the map. But how do you even begin to create comic characters that are unique and original to you? And where do you showcase them?

Anna will give an insight into her own creative process in writing and performing distinctive comic characters. She will also discuss taking characters to the stage at live gigs, making YouTube videos and producing and creating 1 hour shows for Edinburgh (and other festivals). There’ll be the opportunity for every member of the workshop to create a new character or develop those already created further and to showcase these during the session. This is a great workshop any level of experience, and those who prefer creating characters, rather than performing straight stand-up.
