NATURAL BORN STORYTELLERS

Wednesday 18th November. Time: 8:00pm (Doors open 7:30pm) Tickets: FREE! https://www.facebook.com/events/1609315432624352/

It’s all getting too much! Sometimes we have to break down. It’s too tough emotionally, events get on top of us or maybe you were just unlucky enough to buy a crap car that keeps on breaking down. Whatever your interpretation of ‘breakdown’ we’d love to hear your story set around a breakdown or maybe the breakdown was a small but pivotal moment in a much bigger story. Come on down to The Camden Head to hear some great stories about breakdowns and hopefully no one does that on stage…

Our shows are friendly. open, intimate and honest and the stories moving, life-affirming, shocking, captivating or just plain hilarious. It’s different to a comedy show where the expectation is laughter… here laughter comes, but it’s a part of a whole breadth of other emotions and reactions to the stories and it makes for a rich, fulfilling evening’s entertainment.

Come on down and experience one of the friendliest and most memorable nights London has to offer. We’d love you to get involved, whether it’s telling a story, suggesting a new theme or just coming down to watch the night, there is something for everyone at Natural Born Storytellers…

If you have a story on the theme of ‘Breakdowns’ and would like to perform, please send us an email at naturalbornstorytellers@gmail.com

WORKSHOP

WORKSHOP: INTRODUCTION TO TRUE STORYTELLING.

Creating & Telling a Captivating Story

Sunday 8th November. Time: 12:30pm – 4:30pm. Price: £25.00

http://www.naturalbornstorytellers.com/upcoming-events/2015/9/11/november-introduction-to-true-storytelling-how-to-create-tell-a-captivating-story

We all love to spin a good yarn, but sometimes talking about ourselves and the things we’ve done feels harder. We question ourselves: “Do I have a story to tell or just a bunch of anecdotes?”, “why would anything I’ve done be interesting to someone else?” or “I don’t really know what my story is even about?”.

It is these questions and more that we will explore in this fun, supportive and experiential workshop: we will share stories, play games and help craft moments from your life into captivating true stories. We’ll work with structure, performance, voice and other storytelling techniques in small groups where you will connect with others and share experiences with lots of feedback and support.

Everyone will leave having created and performed their own 2-3 minute story.

NATURAL BORN STORYTELLERS

Wednesday 21st October

Time: 8:00pm (Doors open 7:30pm)

Tickets: Free. First come first served!

“Take what you have gathered from coincidence”

Everything happens for a reason and there are times in our lives when events described as just ‘coincidence’ do not do them justice. Maybe there was more to it than met the eye. Maybe everything came together at once or the coincidence was just too unbelievable and it was a sign that you were headed in the right direction, or possibly down completely the wrong path. We all take different things from coincidence and tonight we’ll hear stories from people who have learned something from those situations.

You will learn and practice practical techniques to make your stories memorable and to help put the audience directly in the action.
